FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is seasonal color analysis?
Seasonal color analysis is a method of identifying the colors that naturally enhance your skin tone, undertone, hair, and eye color. At The Hue Muse, we use the advanced 12-season color system to determine your personalized season and subseason that will help you choose colors that make you look fresh, glowing, and confident.
How does a 12-season color analysis work?
The 12-season system expands the traditional four seasons into more precise categories. During your session, Brooke drapes calibrated fabric colors across your shoulders to observe how different hues interact with your skin. This reveals your undertone, temperature, chroma, and depth—leading to your exact seasonal palette.
How long does a color analysis appointment take?
Full color analysis sessions typically take 60–90 minutes, while mini sessions (offered during special events) are around 30 minutes. Each session includes draping, palette guidance, and personalized recommendations.
Where is The Hue Muse located?
The Hue Muse is based in Asheville, North Carolina and proudly serves clients throughout Western NC and surrounding areas. Virtual consultations are available upon request.
What will I learn during my color analysis session?
You’ll learn your seasonal palette, your best neutrals, your best metallics, your top flattering colors, recommended hair and makeup shades, and how to bring your palette into your wardrobe. You’ll also leave with a digital palette that you can take with you when you go shopping.
Do I need to wear anything specific to my appointment?
For best results, come with minimal makeup, hair pulled back and a neutral top.
